Celebrating Together at Our Eid Café
At The Mill Primary Academy, we love celebrating the rich diversity of our school community – and this week, our children took the lead in creating something truly special: Our very own Eid Café!
The idea for the café came directly from the children, who wanted to mark the celebration of Eid by sharing food, kindness, and culture with everyone in the school. Over two fantastic days, our café was transformed into a vibrant, welcoming space full of joy, colour, and community spirit.
Children set up stalls selling cookies, milkshakes, handmade keychains, and friendship bracelets – all made or chosen with love. It wasn’t just about fundraising or treats, though – it was about compassion, empathy, and sharing. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, laughter, and pride as the children took ownership of running the café and welcoming their classmates.
One of the highlights of the event was the chance to try the traditional drink, Falooda – a sweet, refreshing treat made with rose syrup, milk, and vermicelli. It was a hit with pupils and staff alike!
The Eid Café was a beautiful reminder of what happens when young people come together with an idea, a purpose, and a whole lot of heart. It was a true celebration of culture, creativity, and community.
A huge well done to all the children who helped organise, bake, make, sell, and share. Your thoughtfulness and teamwork made this event one to remember.
